Electric Fireworks Junior 2025 – 2026

On December 31, 2025, New Year’s Eve started early for thousands of Amsterdam families. At Museumplein, more than 20,000 children, parents, and grandparents gathered for Electric Fireworks Junior: a festive and safe New Year’s celebration created especially for Amsterdam’s youngest residents. The square was transformed into a cheerful urban arena filled with light, music, and wonder, where counting down together was just as exciting as midnight itself. The adventure began at 6:45 p.m. Together with Edson da Graça, the young partygoers set off on a journey of discovery. Due to an unfortunate mishap in which Edson tripped over a cable, all the light and colors had disappeared. It was up to the children to win them back—by completing two exciting challenges together. And of course, they did so alongside the FITSZ KIDS from the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts and Amsterdam’s Children’s Mayor. At 7:00 p.m., it fell completely silent… 10, 9, 8 — everyone joined in the countdown. And then: light, color, and music all around. The light and fireworks show—a magical beginning to the new year, created especially for children.
