Electric Fireworks 2025 – 2026
On December 31, 2025, Museumplein once again became the central meeting place for New Year’s Eve. With Electric Fireworks and Electric Fireworks Junior, we brought together more than 80,000 residents from all districts of Amsterdam for a large-scale, accessible, and safe event. That evening, the square transformed into a vibrant urban arena where everyone counted down together to the new year.
A modern New Year’s Eve with light as fireworks. With Electric Fireworks, we demonstrated what a modern New Year’s Eve can look like. No traditional fireworks, but a specially designed light fireworks show, fully synchronized with music. The iconic fan-shaped structure, 60 meters wide and 30 meters high, combined with the largest digital countdown clock in the Netherlands (10 meters high and 25 meters wide), formed the visual centerpiece. For months, we worked on a unique composition of music, light, and ecological fireworks—an experience unlike anything else in the world.
Pre-party, countdown show & afterparty. The evening started at 11:00 PM with Hit Republic, led by DJ Joshua Walter and Micky Fisser. At 11:55 PM, the official countdown show began. Exactly at midnight, Electric Fireworks erupted. Until 12:30 AM, visitors could enjoy an afterparty on Museumplein.
Broadcast live on television. For those who could not be physically present at Museumplein, both programs were broadcast live on television. Electric Fireworks Junior aired on AT5 and was partially shown during the NOS Jeugdjournaal. Electric Fireworks was broadcast on RTL 4, RTL 5, RTL 7, RTL 8, and RTL Z. NOS was also present. In total, we reached 3.5 million viewers.
